What is Neon Rain Machine?

Put simply, Neon Rain Machine is my central hub for art and activism. It encompasses veganism, human rights issues (in particular LGBT+ rights), minimalism, and basically any other topics that disrupt the conventional narrative or challenge the accepted cultural apathy that most of us were raised in.

I believe that activism is not a collection of separate battles that are at odds with one another and so must be chosen between or ranked according to their level of egregiousness. Rather, this is one battle fought on multiple fronts. Empathy and compassion begin with understanding, and understanding begins with exposure.

We are, quite literally, all in this together.

NRM will feature news commentary, share breakthroughs and victories, provide reviews on books and documentaries, recommend other activists to check out and groups to get involved with, and occasionally digress (and decompress) with some calmer goings-on, like sharing a story or book I’ve written or just general life updates.

Who Are You?

I’m Vincent, your friendly neighborhood plant-powered prince! I write queer and vegan fiction, drink too much coffee, and blog about things.

Time for a Revamp

“It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.” – Joaquin Phoenix

I’m currently in the process of revamping my site and social media to be a bit more art- and activist-focused. I won’t be completely splitting up ‘business’ from ‘personal’ stuff though, 1) because I’ve never seen much point in that – what I do is a part of my personal life, not separate from it – and 2) I don’t really have the spare energy or patience to keep up with two accounts on every platform. (I mean, really just… just why?) So things might be a bit of a odd mix for a while until get everything sorted, but of course you’re more than welcome to come along for the ride.

[This is a ‘news’ section! When there’s news (like an update, or a book release date, or a planned protest, etc..), it will show up here… once I get my act together.]
